they are quite good now. too hard to say what will happen to them in the playoffs, pros: Kobe and Phil. Cons: pretty much everyone else on the roster have no experience past the 1st round.

I think San Antonio could still pick this team apart in the playoffs.

I'd say so. Dropped 5 of 7 after Bynum and Ariza got hurt. Has it not been for 4th quarter melt downs in the following games:

Oct. 30 vs Houston, 93-95

Nov. 25 vs New Jersey, 100-102

Dec. 12 vs Orlando, 97-104

Dec. 20 at Cleveland, 90-94

Dec. 31 at Detroit, 98-90

Feb. 6 at Atlanta, 95-98

Lakers might have challenged for best record overall this season.

Nuh, they are actually better. They have only had Gasol for how long? That's right the Lakers are just trying to gel right now wait until they have all the guys back man they will be a real force to reckon with.

Yes the lakers are as good as the record says... Mgmt did a good job of assembling a really good-team and put the right pieces in development.. I think the emergence of Andrew bynum has helped tremendously.. and the fact that Kobe has learned to use his team..!
They may be better than that record indicates...Just think right before the playoffs, they get andrew bynum back, so they move gasol to power forward, they can be very scary.

I really think they are the team to beat...Kobe, Gasol, Byrum, and Odom...they can be very scary....Don't be surprise to see Celtics vs. Lakers....
No. they are only good because they have Kobe Bryant which means they're not a good team, they are just a team who has a good player Kobe Bryant. On the other hand the Suns and Celtics are each a good TEAM.
Honestly, I think their better than that. They didn't have Gasol at the start of the season and I can definately see them with at least 45 to 50 wins had they had him initially.
to me the lakers are better than there record, if they would have had Gasol from the start of the season there record would have been much better and they would be number one easily, like 6 games ahead
With Gasol now and that waste of space Kwame Brown gone, yes I think they're a valid contender, especially when Bynum returns and he's 100%

It all comes down to the playoffs and I am willing to bet that your Lakers are not as 'Great' as the hype coming down.
yes they really are. kobe has learned to share the ball and become a leader and getting team wins not personal wins if you kno wat i mean. he also doesnt have to do it all by himself anymore. He has andrew bynum who has blossomed into a great player. I think the reason hes gotten so good is becuz kareem abdul jabbar has been teaching about his position and seems that kareem knows what hes talking about because bynum shows it.Now the lakers got Pau Gasol so the Lakers will go to the playoffs and atleast get pass the first round.

absolutely. and kobes numbers are actually down, which is funny that people think that somehow is passing more. he isnt the other guys are actually making shots, and have the best starting five in bball when bynum gets back
even better, due to the lack of andrew bynum they will be better. the proof is in the reactions of phoenix, dallas, san antonio when the lakers acquired pau gasol!! the result being phoenix sucks!!
